Workshops to discover and enjoy the islands
22/09/2021If you're a fan of local products and workshops, this is the post for you. We recommend some places of interest to visit, whether you want to take a tasting tour or buy a product to take home as a souvenir. Here are our recommendations:
Peasant House Museum, San Bartolomé – 20 min drive from R2 Kontiki Bay
The Casa-Museo del Campesino (Farmers' House-Museum) has launched a sustainable Native Market. Here, you'll find various workshops where you can learn how to make aromatic salts, mojos (sauce sauces), and gofios (gofios), taste jams, wines, and cheeses, make rosettes, ceramics, and even buy organic vegetables or handmade souvenirs.
Majorero Cheese Museum, Antigua – 40 min drive from R2 Río Calma
In this museum, you can see the cheesemaking process, how the goats are raised and cared for, and how the culture and history of cheese has evolved on the island. All this, with a final tasting and a shop where you can purchase cheese.
Can Gordiola Glass Factory, Algaida – 45 min drive from R2 Cala Millor
This museum houses the first artistic glass kiln installed in Mallorca. Here you'll find glass pieces from around the world, and at the end of your visit, you'll have access to a shop where you can take home a figurine molded by the museum's artisans.
With all this, we invite you to connect with the culture of the islands, learn how they make their products, and, why not, take a souvenir home with you after your vacation.
