Hiking trails in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and Mallorca
07/06/2021For those more adept at hiking, touring, and exploring new places, we suggest several trails of varying styles and difficulty levels. Here are our recommendations:
Femés to Papagayo – 20 min drive from R2 Bahía Kontiki Beach Apartments
The outing begins in the south of Femés, a small town of about 200 inhabitants. From there, the route offers incredible views of the mountains, the coast, and various beaches. It's a linear trail of about 4 km, with an estimated duration of 2.5 hours and a medium difficulty.
Esquinzo Beach to Barranco del Jable – 1 hour and 25 minutes by car from R2 Río Calma
This trail runs continuously along the coastline, delighting your eyes with coves, ravines, and beaches. You'll reach a semi-desert area where you'll find the Rico Roque Castle and several salt kilns. The wide variety of landscapes you'll encounter makes this a very entertaining route. It's not a particularly difficult trail, but it is long, so you'll need to bring plenty of water and sunscreen.
Artá Green Route – 20 min drive from R2 Cala Millor Beach Apartment
Here you'll follow an old railway path that connected eastern Mallorca. You'll pass through four different towns with a wealth of landscapes and heritage to explore. You'll cover 29 km of flat, easy trail, ideal for all ages.
Pack your comfortable shoes, water, and motivation... and set off on one of these wonderful trails!
