3 natural pools you must visit if you travel to Fuerteventura
12/10/2022The Canary Islands boast exceptionally beautiful spots. The islands' volcanic landscape, combined with their coastlines sculpted by the sea and wind, creates spaces that tourists associate with paradise. And they're not wrong. That's why at R2 Hotels we want to tell you about three natural pools that are a must-see if you decide to spend your holidays in Fuerteventura.
Many describe this natural pool on the west coast of Fuerteventura as the perfect balance of peace and tranquility. It's a privilege to float on the water, aware that beyond its rocks lies the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean.
A perfect spot for a relaxing swim in a sublime setting. Crystal-clear water, a pristine sea, and the volcanic landscape typical of the islands. It's easily accessible from the village of Llanos de la Concepción, specifically from Playa del Valle. Even so, we recommend wearing appropriate footwear for safety.
If you're looking for something to do away from the main tourist areas, Ajuy is the perfect place. It's primarily known for its caves. However, this small town on the west side of the island also boasts a beautiful beach and natural pools where escaping stress and forgetting about daily life has never been easier.
These pools are one of the best-kept secrets of this small town, tiny natural pools of crystal-clear water nestled at the foot of the cliff. Access is difficult, but the trek is well worth it. It's important to swim at low tide, as the water can be dangerous at higher tides.
In the municipality of Antigua, near Puerto del Rosario, lies the town of Caleta de Fuste. This central point on the island is just a few kilometers from Costa Calma, where several of our hotels are located. Here, tourists can enjoy a variety of activities, from visiting museums like the Majorero Cheese Museum or the Salinas del Carmen salt flats to enjoying beaches such as Playa del Castillo or Playa de la Guirra.
If you're looking for a truly unique experience, you can always visit the natural pool at Castillo Caleta de Fuste, a space formed by nature with water coming directly from the ocean, hence its characteristic crystal-clear green color typical of the Canary Islands. This spot is located between the town of Nuevo Horizonte and the northern part of the Castillo area. It's easily accessible, and we recommend swimming at low tide, as otherwise it can be very dangerous.
If you're looking to relax, disconnect, and forget about your routine, taking a dip in one of these pools and discovering another side of Fuerteventura is a great idea. Don't wait any longer and pack your bags.
