3 natural pools in Lanzarote where you should swim

30/09/2022
None

Lanzarote is one of the most impressive islands in the Canary Archipelago. Unlike others such as La Palma or Tenerife, the island of the "Hundred Volcanoes" stands out for its brown hue and its appearance, a blend of desert and paradise. You'll feel like you're in an oasis thanks to its completely unspoiled, wild beaches where relaxation is effortless. Swimming along the coast will make you feel like you're in a natural pool in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, thanks to the calm and tranquility of the sea, which also creates pools and tide pools where disconnecting from reality has never been easier.

At R2 Hotels, we want to recommend three natural pools that will make your trip to Lanzarote an unforgettable experience:

Punta de Mujeres Natural Pool

Ratjada

In the municipality of Haría lies the small fishing village of Punta de Mujeres. Tranquility, beauty, and peace prevail in this town, whose rocky coastline doesn't prevent its residents from enjoying a refreshing swim.

Descending some of its stairs or jetties, you can enjoy this natural pool where the water comes directly from the sea. A perfect combination of sun, lava, and ocean.

Caletón Blanco

Yes, it's a beach. But at times, it feels like you're in a swimming pool, thanks to the rocky areas that jut out halfway between the shore and the sea. Its name, "Blanco," comes precisely from the color of the sand, which, combined with the crystal-clear water, creates a unique and unforgettable landscape.

Perfect for a tourist getaway where children and adults can enjoy a picture-perfect setting accessed through Órzola, another charming town in the municipality of Haría.

The Puddles

Considered by many to be one of Lanzarote's best-kept secrets, it's also hidden away in one of the island's most secluded corners. Near the tourist area of Playa Blanca, you'll find this haven of relaxation.

A collection of natural pools formed by the erosion of solidified volcanic lava by powerful ocean waves. They vary in depth and size, but all share one thing in common: their crystal-clear waters. The perfect place to recharge.

As these are rocky areas, we recommend that visitors wear sturdy footwear to avoid injury and respect the natural environment by keeping it as clean as possible. Finally, enjoy and be amazed by the paradise that the island of Lanzarote has to offer.
