Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura, "La Isla Tranquila", is just 59 miles away from the African Coastline on the East of the Canarian Archipelago, between Lanzarote and Gran Canaria. With its elongated shape and a surface of 1.031 miles this beautiful Island counts with the biggest and most beautiful white-sand beaches in the Canaries. Due to its 2937 hours of sunlight, annual average temperatures of 68ºF and an average air humidity of 38% the Island of Fuerteventura has excellent climatic conditions.

Sunny Fuerteventura is the oldest of the Canary Island. The island was created by volcanos, unfortunately now a days, you can’t find them but you can see the evidence of their presence.

Pájara

It’s the largest municipality in Fuerteventura, with the longest coastline of the Canary Islands.

The main activity of the municipality is tourism but the tradition of the “apañadas”, which consists on the farming of the coast cattle by the residents. Morro Jable has become the origin of the tourist centre of the Island.

Ajui, the beaches of Sotavento seat of the finals of the Windsurf world championship, the natural park of Cofete habitat of the endemic specie of the "Cardoncillo de Jandia", Pajara Village.

Visiting these places is a pleasure for the senses.

Tuineje

One of the municipalities where tourism is not the priority, as it is a fisher’s town with a very soft black sand beach. It’s very well known for its agriculture and cattle. Its “tomate” is incredibly tasty due to the special conditions of the water and the earth in which it grows. Another classic element for exportation of this region is the goat cheese. These exportation goods are traded in Gran Tarajal, commercial core of the South of the Island. Don’t forget to visit the Valley of Gran Tarajal and its wonderful “Palmerales”.
